Cobra Kai is my first fine-art stationary sculpture. Breaking away from small balancing designs, Cobra Kai was made from a single piece of square tube. I carefully made over 105 cuts in the tube, evenly spaced, and then heated and warped every single slice individually into its final shape.

Pictures truly do not do this sculpture any justice. The gorgeous red paint is a special “candy” color or what I call a “dye”. This is carefully sprayed on using an automotive spray gun. This paint allows the unique shine and grind patterns to shine through the paint and still be visible - creating a unique and beautiful display of different light and shadow refractions. However, it is only after the automotive-grade high-gloss clear coat is sprayed on top that it truly pops! Walking around or past this sculpture is mesmerizing and eye catching! The base is also handmade from a much larger piece of tube stock and I welded each end closed with plate steel and seamlessly blended all the welds to create a large, heavy base.

Though it is meant to be turned and displayed in any direction you wish, you will find at the right angle, this sculpture appears to have the shape of a Cobra’s head; hence it’s name: “Cobra Kai”

It is sure to be the center piece and a bright burst of color in any room or setting!
