Pendulum Man
The pendulum man was made from solid 5/16" thick stainless steel rod, welded and shape by hand and carefully balanced.
The Pendulum man naturally hangs UPSIDE DOWN and when started right-side up, he does half back flips and front flips for about 15 minutes! He is perfectly balanced in such a way that he acts as a pendulum himself! This is the first sculpture I have ever made that does not have an counterweights. His feet were welded and shaped by hand to add weight and regulate his swinging speed. Metal was taken away until the right speed and movement was achieved.
